  I had to mail a package whose postage was calculaged by "weight and size". This is a category used by the USPS on their website. The instructions are straight forward and easy to follow. I checked my calculations twice. When I went to the post office on Riverside, the clerk took my package, weighed it and proceeded to tell the postage, which was roughly 4 times the rate on the website. I challanged the clerk who said the website included discounts that the regular (walk in post office) does not. This not true. When I challanged him on this point, he then told me that the web site must be wrong. The web site was not wrong. I returned home and did the exercise again. This time I took screen shots of every page of the web site. Returning to the post office, I went to another clerk. She did the same thing as the first clerk. I showed her copies of the screen shots, page by page and told her that her calculations were wrong and that I wanted to see a supervisor. She had an "attitude" (they all do) but finally a supervisor came and recalculated the postage which agreed to my original calculations. She said that both clerks errored and she would talk to them. Knowing that the postage was now $21.00 instead of $75.00, the supervisor winked and said "would you like to make a donation?" I said "no" and left. A WORD TO THE WISE: IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO USE THE USPS PROVIDED STANDARD SHIPPING BOXES, CHECK YOUR CALCULATIONS AND TAKE SCREEN SHOTS OF ALL THE PAGES WITH YOU WHEN YOU VISIT THESE PEOPLE. I WONDER HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE UNKNOWINGLY RIPPED OFF ?
